New in Brussels: Mima

Maybe the permanent exhibition has still to grow… but meanwhile the newly founded museum Mima (April 2016) along the Canal in Brussels started to show us its mission: contemporary art: the temporary exhibition “City lights” brings together 5 American artists and their artworks on urban life. I was very impressed by the artist Faile, who rediscovered what I knew from my childhood: the Litfaßsäule, the advertising column which was invented in Berlin in 1854. I never saw it again… until I visited the exhibition. Fascinating also the colourful room designs of the artist Maya Hayuk whose effects are based on a dialogue with light.
